Welcome to the podcast, today I’m joined by Michelle Farris, LMFT. Michelle is a licensed marriage and family therapist in San Jose, CA.  She became a therapist after realizing the power of her own personal growth. She teaches others how to be more authentic in relationships by healing their anger and codependency. It's the power of accountability and unconditional support that helps us let go of the past and heal.

She helps people struggling in their relationships. Maybe you may feel alone and defeated. You've tried to talk things out, give in, or wait for the something to change...but nothing does. You find yourself choosing their needs over yours. That's a hard way to do relationships.

It doesn't have to stay that way. You can learn from those painful experiences and make the next relationship better - or improve the one you're still in.

When you see what didn't work you can learn what does. The end result isn't your fault, but you can be responsible for your part. You're looking for a solution. You just need the right kind of help.

She loves helping others gain control over their emotions so they can feel confident and empowered in relationships. She has helped people in 12 step recovery for many years. She can help if you are questioning your drinking, in substance abuse recovery, struggle with anger management, compulsive overeating, codependency, depression, relationships, grief, divorce and co-parenting.

Welcome to the podcast.  Today is going to be a bit different as I’m joined by, well, me!

This is my first time hosting the podcast solo, and I am a little nervous, but  I’m just going to go ahead and feel the fear and do it anyway - which is especially meaningful as coping with fear is what this episode is all about.

For better or worse, fear is a primary motivator in our lives, whether we are consciously aware of this or not.  I know this from experience and I see this in my practice, where many of the issues my clients struggle with are related to fear.

So I felt it would be meaningful to explore the experience of fear, the different types of fear, why fear is so powerful, and steps for changing how we understand and cope with fear.

Thanks for joining us!
